Why I so like "Crocodilya"
Couldn't help quoting short story by Woody Allen from his book "Jokes of the God" (Or Collected stories)
:D
"...Once there lived a man who was selling shirts. Hard times had come, no one would buy his product, and his trade has stopped. The man desperately prayed to God, saying: "My God, why have You sent such a trial on me? My enemies prosper at trading, and I didn't sell a shirt during the whole week. And this is at the peak of the season! My Lord, look at my product. Look what a splendid viscose. My Lord, I have shirts with collars and buttons, I have tie-shirts - everything fits perfect. And I have always obeyed Your commandments! Why, oh why cannot I make my living, and my little brother has to whipe floors in "Children's Paradise"?
God heard his pray and answered to the slave of His, saying:
- Regarding shirts...
- Yes, my Lord! - exclaimed the man and dropped down on his knees.
- Stamp on a crocodile.
- What, my Lord?
- What you've heard. Stamp on a crocodile on the pocket. You won't regret."
P. S. BTW, tennis shirt was invented by french tennisit Rene Lacoste, whos nickname was Crocodile.

winter
Dilya, do you want to go to Cuba for a week on Monday? 700 bucks: tickets, visa, hotel.
a voice from under papers: I doo!!
I'd be eager to send all the essays, tests, deadlines and especially, with exceptional pleasure this
to Mars, and recharge myself with sun, sea, cuban jazz and color. But responsibilities hold me tight to Moscow where sun appears for no longer than 5 minutes on average per week.

dreams
it's great to realize what I really want.
it's awful to understand that chances are .00001%
but my optimist nature gives me enough idiotism to believe in these .00001%
also my nature stubborness gives me enough 'dont-give-a-shittism' to those who think that they know better than me where to go and what to be. My life should be lived by me, ain't it?
to hell all your MBA's, masters in economics and finances, management and accounting, banking and enterprises. Once again: to hell!
Did you ever see an elephant climbing a tree? You know why not? Because elephants are not meant to climb the trees. I am not meant to analyze the finances. This makes my brains twitch. (with all due respect to these proffesions)

What a great week. What a great person. Existential :D
i was once translating at business appointments. after an hour I was eager to kill myself, so boring they were.
whereas here, 10 am - 6 pm nonstop of excellent food for brains, and no tiredness at all!
mistype of the day:
writing an sms to my friend: "come down to my room for eating a movie and watching tangerines!"

fortunately, U don't know i have a blog
Thank you for the poem.
I do not like poetry, but this one is good.
It is touching.
I am sorry I don't like you.

empty chair
You love music, and browse billboards for some excellent concert.
You find a concert and buy a ticket, long in advance, half a year or so.
Then you fall sick and nobody can locate where cancer cells come from.
Then you die.
And your seat stays empty all concert.
I love to go to the conservatoire. Addicted to it. If I am not there for a month, I have a withdrawal. It gives 2 hours of pure pleasure. Love to be there alone. I close my eyes, music helps to put thoughts in order.
This time I was in this empty chair. Bach was wonderful as usual.

photographers say
Ralph Gibson:
- when you take pictures in b/w you make 3 steps away from reality: you eliminate color, contract size, come from 3D to 2D. That's why blac&white photography looks more drammatic, cause you make 3 steps away from reality.
Eugene Smith:
- What's use of depth-of-field if there is no deep emotions?
Bill Brandt:
- The distinctive feature of a phorographer is that he looks more intensively at things than other people. He must preserve eye of a child who looks at the world for the first time, or of a traveller who enters a country he's never been to before.

beauty
Lilian Bassman,
born in 1917 (!)
she was one of those who trended and directed fashion photography.
negatives of these pictures were found in her old studio in the garbage bags.
they were revived.
this totally reflects my feeling of woman's beauty and how it should be captured on a still image.
more
she still lives and still creates. admirable!
